    Google maps API key

To use Google maps on your site you must have a Google account and a Google maps API key with the correct credentials. Site Studio uses the Maps JavaScript API for the front-end of your website and the Maps Embed API for the Site Studio user interface. The Geocoding API is used to find the co-ordinates of an address when input into the Google map marker.

You must add all of these services to your Google maps API key credentials if you want to use one key. You can add Maps JavaScript API & Maps Embed API, services to one key and the Geocoding API service to another, to allow for restrictions to be applied to your API keys as per Google's best practices.

You can register your project and configure your API key credentials in the Google API Console.

    Enter your API key

To enter your Google maps API key:

    1. Navigate to Site Studio > Configuration > Google map API key
    2. Enter your API key in the field
    3. Enter your Geocoding API key in the Google Maps Geocoding API field - this is optional and if left blank will use the API key supplied in Google Maps API key field for Geocoding services
    4. Click Save.
