How do I index content on a layout canvas?

You can index content of a layout canvas by adding the 'Rendered HTML output' field to your search index.

I'm seeing errors in the console when Visual Page Builder is enabled

A known issue in Drupal core causes JS libraries to be loaded out of order resulting in dependency errors. See: https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3222107

Why does it sometimes say 'DX8' within the user interface and the code?

Site Studio used to be called DX8. When it was changed to Site Studio, some machine names that were core to the system couldn't be changed. Apart from making the naming within the code a little less consistent, it shouldn't cause you any problems.

How do I remove a combinator from my style?

You don't. You apply a Descendant selector. These use a (Space).

If I change a Component fields 'Default value' will it apply to existing Components?

No. The default value only applies when you first add the Component to your Layout canvas. It will not propagate to existing instances of your Component.

Can I develop my own custom elements?

Yes. If you're a developer you can create your own custom elements. These will appear within the 'Custom element' category in the Sidebar browser.

Can I use custom elements inside Components?

Yes. If you develop your own Custom elements you can use them within Components and make their fields editable within your them.

Can I create templates for content entities added by contrib modules?

Yes. You can use Site Studio to create templates for almost any Content entity. You'll just need to implement some hooks to make it work.

Can I create templates for Paragraphs created using the Paragraphs module?

Yes. You can create templates for Paragraphs but you'll need to implement some hooks to make it work.

What's the difference between mobile first and desktop first?

In mobile first, your styles will inherit upwards from the smallest media query, whereas in desktop first they will inherit down from the largest media query.

What does the breakpoint indicator do?

The breakpoint indicator shows you which breakpoint you're viewing your website at in the bottom left of the browser.

How do I turn off the breakpoint indicator?

Go to Extend > Uninstall and search for Site Studio Breakpoint indicator.

What value should I use to change the opacity of an element?

Opacity is set using a decimal where 0 is transparent, 0.5 is 50% and 1 is solid.

What’s the Generic custom style?

It's a Custom style that can be applied to any element.

What’s the 'Layout' custom style?

It's a style that's applied to elements that have a container. Use it to style the container or target and style any child elements.

Why are custom styles divided into types when they're all just CSS classes?

The types allow for the styles to be grouped when displayed within the WYSIWYG editor and in the Custom style drop-downs in the elements.

Can I use CSS animations?

Not yet. The Style builder does not have the option to add an animation name or key frames. This is planned functionality on our road map.

Can I add my own CSS styles that don’t use the Style builder?

Yes. You can add your own styles to a sub theme.

What is a modifier?

Modifiers allow you to apply styles to an element when a specific class, id or attribute is present.

What does Site Studio actually produce?

Site Studio produces .twig files and .css stylesheets.
